Inspiring words to fuel your daily motivation
Psalm 139: 13-16
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Through the years I have had many hairstyles (too many to count) in an effort to define myself. I wanted to look older, or more mature, more glamorous, how about fully-body curls, short and easy (no time to style when you have kids),
sexy and young, to look my age. At one point I didn’t know what I wanted, so I left it up to my hairdresser (not recommended.)
With all the hairdos, came the attitudes to reflect the style de jour. I seemed to always want to be like someone
else, or have what so and so had, or she seemed to have it all together, so why can’t I.
Always striving to be but never deciding to be who I am or what God wants me to be. Now in my 60s, I’m still not so sure what God wants me to be, but I do know he wants me to love and honor Him above all, to love, honor and respect my husband, and to be the best mom I know how to be to my children. And somehow,
that’s enough.
